Character's Point of view: the secret of fun to play and watch Characters Each person is distinguishable from or made similar to others by opinion, preference, or point of view. Comedy is often built on a confrontation between beliefs about oneself and reality. The trick is to avoid invented conflict in the scene and find fun and comedic tension in performance making compelling choices and that help the audience empathizes with your character. In this workshop, we will play with and explore point of view in helping to create characters that are vital and expressive. Monika Ozdarska, a Polish improviser with 12 years of experience, has absorbed knowledge from over a hundred teachers. She co-created an improv duet (WePolak) with the American improv legend Jeff Michalski and together they performed in Poland, Germany and at international festivals in Chicago, Uppsala, Toruń, Lisbon. With insights from over 2300 hours of global training, she's a wellspring of improv knowledge. She engages in a synthesis of theatrical improvisational styles derived from Viola Spolin, Keith Johnston, Sanford Meisner, and Anne Bogart, which are included in the curriculum of leading schools of improvisation. Her workshops are a whirlwind of creativity, unlocking the untapped potential within improvisers and sharpening their skills. Monika's not just a performer; she's also the founder of 'The Art Of Yes' Facebook page and podcast, where she's interviewed improvisers from around the globe.
